Information for a first holiday in Cyprus

by Gian Luca
(Italia)

I'll have my first holiday in Cyprus, from June 16 to 23rd. I'm Italian and Cyprus is not a usual place to holiday for us. So I haven't much information from friends about your island.

At last today I've found your interesting internet site, with a lot of suggestions that of course I'll use.

Me and my family (wife and 2 young girls) will arrive at Paphos Airport and then we've booked an appartment from an English man in Latchi/Polis. We've rented a car for 1 week.

I ask you for information/suggestions for: - other beaches near Chrysochou Bay, I've read about Lara, Pomos and Mansoura (the first one that I'll see, it's what I'm lookin' for, with regard to your information on internet), - typical villages, - historic places, - handicraft and last but not least typical taverns and little restaurants.
I thank you in advance and I wait your kind reply.
Best regards.

Gian Luca Maggi

P.S.
Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand my questions.

Best things to see and do on a first trip to Cyprus
by: Helen

Well by finding my site you have the answer to all your questions!

I've listed the best beaches close to Polis/Latchi on my beaches page, beaches like Lara bay as you have already mentioned.

For small tavernas, just read my restaurants page and take note of the recommended tavernas from other visitors too.

For what to see and do take a look at my 101 things to do guide. And don't forget my top 10 things to do in Polis/Latchi.

And my final tip, just head into the hills with your hire car and stop at the first taverna or cafe. Steni village, for example, where there is a wonderful folk museum is a great place to start and only a few minutes drive from Polis.

Read every page on my site by going to the sitemap to find what you need. All the information you need is right there!
Enjoy your trip.
