Discover the Secrets for a Perfect Holiday in Cyprus

Or even a Life here!

helen smeaton picture The Editor!

Yiasas! Welcome to Cyprus-Travel-Secrets.com. I'm Helen, or Heleni as I'm known locally and I live and work on the magical island of Kypros, as it's known here in Greek.

Why is it magical? OK I confess, I'm biased because hubby Al asked me to marry him right here on the island. We loved coming here so much, we finally moved here, but you know what? We'd hardly scratched the surface of what Cyprus has to offer and as for discovering any secret places or extra special things to do...well we're still exploring and uncovering new little gems every week!

Wouldn't it be cool to have some inside knowledge to plan your holiday?

Wouldn't it be even cooler to have your very own travel guide to show you some of the best kept secrets that only the locals know?

Like where to find the prettiest Venetian bridge for a romantic picnic. Or where to spot a moufflon in the wild? How about sneaking a peek at the most unspoilt beach in the peak of high season or maybe just chilling out with a glass of some mouthwatering Cypriot cheese and fine wine...

Tip: There IS fine wine to be found on the island but you need to know where to get it!

Cyprus Travel Secrets may just be the friendly travel guide you need

And I'd like to passionately offer my services as your Kypros insider travel enthusiast :)

akamas peninsula Simply breathtaking!

"I must mention your website. It really is very comprehensive and covers everything a visitor needs to know about the island and your personal assistance has been invaluable for which I am truly grateful."

-- Richard Brown from the UK.

There are currently over 500 pages of mouthwatering information on this website, lovingly compiled by little old me (well, I'm short but not that old ...yet!) but I don't expect you to devour all 500 in one sitting ;) so here's a little taster of what you can find:

Some of my little secrets...

Tip:: You'll find my most exciting TOP secret tips in little blue boxes like these :)
...include:

I'll even teach you a little Greek - something you WILL need if you venture into the hills as English is pretty much a foreign language in some of the remote mountain villages!

And if you're thinking of buying or renting a place in the sun here, I can help you make the right choices when it comes to property buying or even building your own home from scratch.

Oh, and not forgetting essential stuff like a great place to stay, whether it's a luxury villa or sumptuous penthouse apartment and tips for the best resort, whether you want peace and tranquillity, a family resort with plenty of things to occupy the kids or a happening place with clubbing into the early hours.

Your PERSONAL Cyprus Travel Site

You can also join in and share your personal experiences as this website is totally interactive. If you have a burning question you can't find an answer to on the site, then go ahead and ASK me.

Don't get Lost - How to find your Way round this Travel Website

The easiest way to find something fast is to go straight to the SITEMAP. Or just scroll down the left hand navigation bar to find the topic you need.

There are links to related pages at the bottom of every page, so if you're looking for a holiday apartment to rent, for instance, go first to the main apartments page, then to the relevant resort you are interested in via the related page links at the bottom.

If you get completely lost, which is easy as I do it all the time when exploring in Cyprus ;) type what you are looking for into the search box at the top right of every page or just click on HOME at the top left or bottom of every page and you'll end up back here.

Where do you begin searching for secrets on this site?

Well a good place to start is my 101 things to do page. or just dive straight into the hundreds of Cyprus-related questions already asked by other visitors - I guarantee one of them will be a question YOU want to ask too.
