Here are some tips on getting the best car rental in Cyprus

Tip 1: Don't just go with a Cyprus car hire brand you already know. They MAY offer air miles with every booking but they are usually more EXPENSIVE and you have to stand in a BIG queue to get your car at the airport as everyone else has booked with the same firm.

Tip 2: You can nearly always get a CHEAPER rental car in your resort if you shop around for half an hour. We've seen rates as low as CYP£10 PER DAY in low season from car hire firms eager to rent their vehicles.

Cars are also always in plentiful supply even in the busy summer months, though you may be a little more limited on choice of car.

Tip 3: Check your INSURANCE details carefully. Many firms do not include "sump" insurance as standard and if you take your vehicle off road on one of the many bumpy tracks and break the sump...you will have both a headache AND a big bill from the car hire company.

Tip 4: Always ask what the policy is on FUEL. Many car hire firms charge you up front for a full tank of fuel...at a MUCH higher rate than you would pay at the pumps. And some even ask you to bring it back with a full tank as well!

Make sure you just bring it back with the same amount of fuel as when you started. If the company won't agree to this, GO ELSEWHERE!
