Weather in October in Cyprus

by Lin
(Bedfordshire)

I am planning to go to Cyprus in late October this year for 2 weeks. Could anyone advise me about what sort of weather to expect and the type of clothing I should take with me? Will it be hot enough to sunbathe, is it cool in the evenings? Many thanks.

October in Cyprus

All shops and restuarants will still be open in October. They only start to shut down after half term in November and even then, most stay open till Xmas, only closing for Jan-March.

When does the holiday season close in Paphos?

Planning on visiting Paphos in October, but slightly concerned that some of the restaurants/bars and shops will have closed for the season.

Weather in late October in Cyprus
by: Helen

Hi Lin

October is a great time to visit Cyprus. Expect temperatures in the mid 20's with warm sunny days but cooler evenings (around 18-20 degrees C)

For clothing, bring a mix of summerwear for the day and some light sweaters/fleeces/trousers for the evening. You will probably find the evenings warm by UK standards though we are wearing jackets/sweaters by then!

Sea temperatures are still very warm in the mid 20's after the August summer heat so lots of opportunities for swimming. If you plan to visit the Troodos mountains you will need warmer clothing for the evening as temperatures are around 5 degrees cooler than on the coast.

It's a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors whether cycling or walking.

For more information, see our weather page.

Have a great holiday!

Helen
