Boat trips and gorge walking in Cyprus

I will spend 4 days in the west of Cyprus with a friend in July 2008. We will arrive in Paphos on a Friday morning, and stay until Monday night. We want to explore the area north of Paphos (to do outdoor things) and also spend at least one night in Limassol, where we will see friends.

I don't know Akamas very well, I want to know, how we can join organised trips to visit one of the spectacular gorges on foot, how can we book a boat trip around the Akamas peninsula (and where these trips leave from), and where we could do some water sports. Which days are the best to do these activities: Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday? Do these activities not run on any of these days?

Thank-you!

Boat trips and gorge walks in Cyprus

Hi El

For watersports, head to Latchi (about 45 mins from Paphos, 5 km from Polis) and there is a wide choice. Boat trips along the Akamas peninsula leave from Latchi at 10am and depart every day (except winter months). Some of the boat companies also do an afternoon trip. You can also hire your own private speed boat which is an economical choice if there are four or more of you in a group.

For gorge walking you need to book with a walking tour company. We offer this via our sister company Wheelie Cyprus - www.wheeliecyprus.com. Just tell us which day you'd like to do this and give at least 24 hours notice please.

Better to book in advance or call us on 00357 99350898 when you arrive. For gorge walking you will need a sturdy pair of walking shoes, preferably walking boots as you have to scramble over rocks on some sections.

Kind Regards
