walking the E4 in Cyprus

I want to do 5 walks of between 25km and 50km along the Cyprus section of the E4 long distance route in December. Do you have any recommendations as to the best sections to choose? Start points, end points or particular places to include would be very useful. Thanks, Alan

E4 Cyprus best sections

My personal recommendation is to stick to the west of the island for the best sections of the E4 in Cyprus.

See this page on the E4 for favorite sections. You can stay in Stavros forest station if necessary (in huts above the station or you can camp there - there is a good small campsite with toilets and showers - though water is cold in winter!) and you won't need to book in advance in December if you want to do a longer route taking in Stavros towards Cedar valley for instance.

You should definitely include the E4 descent from Stavros to the valley floor and onwards to Lysos or down through the valley towards Evretou - the latter, if you choose to end up in Polis, is a good 50km walk!
