Things to do for boys in Cyprus

by Tony
(London)

Can you suggest places of interest for 2 boys aged 11 and 16 ? They have done the history thing to death !!!
To make things easy for you ......

One boy hates getting sweaty
They both like go karting
Both like bowling
Both love to swim ( but found the Paphos Aqua Park too anglicised )
One boy loves cooking and has a keen interest in cuisine

Many thanks

Things to do for teenagers in Paphos area

You don't say where you are staying or when you will be arriving (any activity can be sweaty in August!) but here are a few suggestions:

1 Polis area has go karting, a bowling alley, quiet bays for swimming in the sea (near Aphrodite's baths - turn right just beforehand and walk down to the coves)
2 Relax beach in Pomos for more sea swimming
3 Staying in a villas/apartment? Buy some fresh vegetables in a local fruit/veg market and challenge the "cook" to make supper from the ingredients you give him!
4 Hire a bike and cycle along cycle track between Polis/Latchi - mainly flat so "no sweat!"
5 Cyprus nature hunt - see which one can catch/spot/take photos of the biggest spider etc (read Gerald Durrell for inspiration) - jamjars or plastic containers required!
6 Get them to learn some basic Greek while they are here (see books page for book suggestions) - by the end of the week they have to order your food in Greek!
7 A boat trip - Latchi boats like the Koulla leave every day from May onwards and cruise up the Akamas - good fun. If you have more cash, hire a private boat and go DIY and swim in blue lagoons.

Hope that helps

Helen
