My husband and I recently returned from Cyprus (Feb 2009) and often ate at the Mystery Tavern. The food and atmosphere was great. Best calamari ever! Still craving it :-) Lovely fresh fish caught by the owner. You can then pick your fish and it is prepared nicely on the grill. The prices were reasonable and the extra dessert on the house was an added bonus. Would highly recommend The Mystery Tavern.
The Mystery also serves an excellent meat meze for ?13 Euros a head. Unlike many meat mezes this one has several vegetarian dishes in it too so is not as heavy to eat.
The restaurant is popular with Cypriot locals which is always a good sign. Don't be put off by the "family" word in the restaurant title, it's just that Cypriot families often take their children there late at night and they usually go to sleep whilst the parents are eating!
