Nara it really depends what you plan to do when you visit. If you want a quiet resport then Polis/Latchi is perfect for outdoor activities like cycling and walking although the resorts are very quiet in early December. Restaurants etc are all open but there won't be many people around.
If you want a more lively atmosphere head for Paphos or Limassol with a greater choice of bars/restaurants. but bear in mind it is low season so it's pretty quiet everywhere. Weather will still be warm enough to sunbathe if sunny so that may sway your decision ie if you want a good beach then head for Larnaca area. Only go to the Troodos if you want to walk or cycle - resorts there will be dead in comparison to anywhere else on the island.
