Pegeia wedding

by Leanne Williams
(Adlington, Lancashire)

We are looking at getting married at Pegeia town hall garden (not till next year, but I'm trying to be organised) Your website has been really useful so far but we are looking for somewhere to have a meal and a few drinks after our wedding. We really love the look of Viklari restaurant but I have since read online that it is closed at night (someone told me this was due to lack of power?)

I love the idea of having our reception in a lovely little place like Viklari but obviously we can't do that if its closed in the evening, so I was wondering if you had any similar suggestions as I didn't know whether your favourite tavernas would be close enough to travel to after the wedding, we are thinking of hiring a bus but I am thinking of the end of the night when other people want to make their way back to their hotel. I am just worried if we pick somewhere too remote we'll struggle to get our guests home at night, anything you could suggest would be very much appreciated, Thank you, Leanne

Found a venue
by: Leanne

Hi thank you for getting back to me, after a fair bit of ringing around we have actually got in touch with a taverna in Simou called Sa Buneri Taverna which overlooks the Evretou dam and I'm really happy with it as it looks lovely, but I appreciate your help. Thanks, Leanne

Wedding in Peyia
by: Ruth Cooling

Hello Leanne
I have an apartment in Peyia village just aound the corner from Peyia taverna, and only a few steps further from the grande cafe.

I always go to these when in peyia and have found the food good and the atmosphere in especially the grande good as well. I am not sure what time of year you are getting married, not a lot of outside space at peyia taverna but plenty at the grande.
there are also a couple of new places opened since I last had a chance to visit. It also depends a bit on what sort of food you want.

Have you not been out and stayed in Peyia to try everything out.

I'm sure a visit to the village would help you prepare and be comfortable with everything. if I can help with accommodation then have a look on my web site www.myhideaway.co.uk or ring 01249 813729 or 07874021059 Ruth

Wedding reception venues near Peyia
by: Helen (website owner)

First you are right. The Viklari Last Castle is only open during the day, so it is not an option is you want an evening reception.

Peyia is around 30 mins drive from Polis and Latchi, where most of my favourite restaurants are situated. It's not too far in a bus in my opinion as if you choose somewhere in central Paphos you are still looking at a 15-20 minute transfer.

There is a restuarant on the hillside above Peyia which used to be run as a wedding venue and has now been renovated. I can't for the life of me recall what it's now called and I haven't visited myself so I can't comment on the food sorry.

Most of the other places in and around Peyia are a bit touristy in my view, so for a better atmosphere, I would personally recommend somewhere in Latchi near the harbour or Periyiali where my friend got married, 5 minutes outside Latchi harbour right next to the sea.
