We are planning on coming back over to Cyprus in December. In fact it would be during the evening on Christmas Eve and so we need to know if supermarkets and food shops are open at this time?

Christmas eve shop opening hours in Cyprus

It depends how late you are arriving really and also where you are staying. The big hypermarkets will be open until around 20.00-21.00 and the smaller kiosks and fruitmarkets usually stay open until 22.00 or even later. But not everywhere. So unless you are staying in one of the bigger towns - Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Polis, don't rely on finding a shop open.

Also remember that many shops will be low on some essentials depending on what they have sold during the day. It's not like the UK however where people tend to go crazy buying lots of things they don't need. Christmas is not such a big event here, so you should be able ti find something. or just eat out on the first 2 days of Xmas and the shops will be open on Boxing day!
