Cycling and mountain biking in Limassol forest

(Louvaras Cyprus)

Limassol forest is easily accesible. Beautiful trails through the forest and some rougher tracks for the more adventurous.

Maramenos is a great place to start. A lovely little cafe/taverna nestles among the pine trees by a spacious picnic area that is popular with Cypriots at the weekend.
By 8.30 am the BBQ's are set up and the souvla is prepared.
A family day out may cater for fifty or more people, so get there early if you fancy setting up.

Leave the highway and head North on the E110 signs Ayia Fyla/Ayia Fylaxi. Pass through Palodia, wind through the river bed, and as the road climbs you will see Gerassa village on your left. Continue and you will see a concrete water tank on the left by the turning for Louvaras. In one kilometer you will see, on the right, the little church of Ayias Paraskavee. 50 metres on the left is the entrance to Maramenos Picnic Area. Follow the track as it bends right and you will see Jiannis' cafe/Taverna.

Have a drink or order some food for when you have completed your foray into the forest.

You will have to explore the trails yourself as there are no maps. Google earth may help, but many of these tracks are kept open for the forestry workers and firefighters.
Beautiful countryside, and challenging rides.
Enjoy.
