Latest Weather in Polis and Latchi

You may have guessed from the opening news snippet that Cyprus is now in the middle of a serious water crisis. We have had only one day of light rain in April versus a normal average of 5 days on the coast.

On top of that, we just had a mini heatwave with soaring temperatures in the early 30's for the last 10 days.

Temperatures are back to normal now with a cool wind chasing the clouds and sun but a dry April does not bode well for a happy summer due to the water shortages.

STENI tavern

The Steni tavern opened about a year ago and is situated on the F733 Polis to Lysos road, The tavern can be found on the LEFT just as you enter the pretty village of Steni, the first village after you leave Polis.

The taverna offers a typical Cypriot menu with a large meat meze for all carnivores and is extremely well priced. The owners do not speak much English so it is a great opportunity for you to practice your Greek!

On a clear day there are fantastic views back towards the coast both from the taverna and when you descend back to Polis after enjoying your meal.
