Latest Weather in Polis and Latchi

After the snow in February, spring or rather summer has suddenly arrived. As I write this newsletter it is 28 degrees outside. Yes, it is unseasonably warm for this time of year but wonderful all the same.

Perfect for cycling and walking and just plain relaxing. Or wandering in the fields looking for orchids and other wild flowers. Or simply just reading a good book in the warm sunshine. Bliss!

Wild flower lovers will enjoy our photo page being compiled. We've taken hundreds of photos of gorgeous orchids and other wild flowers on our recent walks and will be pulling the best together for you next month.

Apologies for the delay in our moving to Cyprus pages. This is work still in progress as so many things have changed since Cyprus joined the EU. We want to be sure of giving you the RIGHT information so we're still working on it.

KARITHEA

A new taverna/snack bar which opened at the end of 2007. Situated on the E709 Polis to Peyia (via Kathikas) road, Karithea can be found on the LEFT just before the right hand turn to Drouseia when approaching from Polis). Owned and run by Alexia and Harris who live in Drouseia, the Karithea is already popular with all the locals and serves a simple but tasty menu of Cypriot specialities. Alexia's stifado" and moussaka are to die for and all the meals are extremely good value for money.

Whether you want a snack or a full meal, pay a visit soon. You will not be disappointed.
