Latest Weather in Polis and Latchi

We STILL have a big water shortage problem after virtually no rain in January. Any winter holidaymakers were spoiled by continuous bright sunshine throughout the month and, so far, the weather pattern has continued.

We did have a couple of days of bad weather at the end of January including some snowfall which settled as low as 200m above sea level. There were even some residents apparently "snowed in" at some hillside villages in the area.

But ever since the sunshine has been back with a vengeance. We will undoubtedly have water cuts after the elections in February and we'll keep you informed if you have a holiday home here and are wondering whether there will be enough water on the island when you visit.

I'm really getting into my yoga right now and have joined a local class run by Nausika at the Ananta yoga centre in Skouli (about 10 mins drive from Polis). Imagine my horror this week when I discovered my camping mat (which had become my yoga mat) full of big holes with tell-tale claw marks. Yes one of my darling cats had destroyed it so I went searching the net for a resonably priced yoga mat that could be delivered to Cyprus (all the sports shops on the island just seem to sell slippery gym mats). I found the perfect high quality mat which will be delivered in less than a week from Yoga-Mad.
