Which Cyprus resort to pick for good food and local flavour?

by cat
(Scotland)

My partner and I are coming to cyprus in October and are unsure which resort to choose to stay in. We thought the coast would be better as it would be warmer at that time of year. We like to eat good food, drink good wine and be somewhere that has a local flavour. (no wild discos!) Any suggestions?

Best town in Cyprus
by: Helen

Hi Cat

Polis or Latchi are the best towns for peace and quiet, good food and wine. Latchi has a lovely harbour with restaurants alongside, mainly fish and local Cypriot food choices. Polis has a few different restaurants with more upmarket European cooking if that's what you want plus a good selection of Cypriot fare.

See our accommodation page for ideas on where to stay.

If you want somewhere quiet and different, then spend a few days in the mountains where the air is fresh and the atmosphere is so unqiue compared to anywhere on the coast. You won't find many people speaking English in tiny mountain villages so you can practice a little Greek too!
