I would appreciate advice on how to travel from Paphos (airport) in South Cyprus to Lefke in North Cyprus, by bus by hire car or other means.

Travel from Paphos to Ercan airport

Hi Andrew,

Please see link 3 and reverse instructions. However go to paphos bus station get bus to border costs about £10.00 from memory, out of bus station turn right left by shops down to Ledra palace and cross border by foot. Remember to keep visa/entry slip as you will need to show this at the airport. Once you have crossed by foot walk through and get a taxi to Bus station (10ytl) then once you get to bus station (Turkish side) get a bus ticket to airport (7.50 ytl) they are so helpful that side.

Let me know how you get on but be aware that if you travel back and cross border again last bus to Limmasol is either 5.30 - 6.30pm and no onwward transfer to Paphos I got a taxi and it cost me around £40.00!!

Good luck let me know how you get on! My e mail is helen.buckley@staffordshire.gov.uk

Regards
Helen.

Travel from Paphos to North Cyprus

There are various threads on this topic in the Ask section of the site.

Also you can try asking a taxi driver in the North to come across the border and pick you up. Some friends recently booked a one way taxi journey from Larnaca to Kyrenia (1.5 hour journey) for £55 sterling. You will not get a rate anywhere close to that booking a taxi in the South to get you to the border - most won't cross over anyway.

Paphos is a longer journey as you have to go via Nicosia (1 hour) whereas the airport run up to Nicosia only take half an hour.
