Choose Paphos if your final destination is either Lemesos, Paphos or Polis and Latchi.
Paphos airport is relatively small but handles a large number of mainly charter flights to Cyprus.
Parkingused to be free but, since the Hermes group took over the airport in summer 2007, parking fees have been put in place including fees at arrivals (only the first 20 minutes waiting time is free).
N.B: It is usually very difficult to park close to the airport terminal at busy times (summer, Christmas and Easter
periods). This is due to the high number of hire cars being returned and often "abandoned" as
drivers get frustrated. Be warned - you may get blocked in if you have left your car at the airport!
The telephone number for the airport is 00357 26240506.
Restaurant facilities are currently limited (just a small cafe in the Departures building) so make sure you eat beforehand if you
don't like eating on planes. This will change, of course, when the new terminal is opened at the end of 2008.
If you need a taxi when you arrive, you will find a large number directly outside the Arrivals building.
N.B:
The cost should be around €25 for a journey into Paphos.
There is a set charge per kilometre for all taxi journeys,
but beware of the occasional unscrupulous taxi driver, especially late at night who may try to overcharge you. Make
sure you agree the price beforehand!
Paphos International airport is right next to the sea. If your flight is delayed, don't go through to the departure lounge...just
go and sit in the sun...!
