March in Cyprus

by Jean

We're planning to come to Cyprus in early March 2013 with 2 other couples. We'll rent a villa. Is it best at this time of year to stay inland in case the weather's not so good?

Also, we're thinking of either the Paphos area or one of the villages in the west/north-west. Which of the villages are most likely to have restaurants and shops open all year round? We're particularly interested in Pegeia, Polis, Argaka and Latchi.

Cyprus holidays in March

In March, all restaurants and tavernas are open again including any that may have closed for January and February during the quiet winter period.

Temperatures are milder near the coast so you don't need to go inland or up into the Troodos mountains where we often have snow in March!

All of the villages you mention have an excellent choice of villas to rent with Latchi and Argaka being particularly good choices in March as they are near to some wonderful walking areas - the Paphos forest (Argaka) and the Akamas peninsula (Latchi). See my walking pages for more details.

All the fish tavernas in Latchi are open and there is nothing better than sitting in the spring sunshine with a glass of wine or beer and a fish meze!

Enjoy
