- Visit one of the many museums or just wander the streets around the walled city area to admire the
Venetian architecture
- Or get some retail therapy on Makarios III Avenue or at the "Mall" just off the motorway
as you come into town. The Mall looks like any other modern shopping mall with a large Debenhams, Carrefour and
Zara to name just a few of the retailers.
Nicosia Hotels
There is not a huge choice of hotels in the capital as it is quite a small city but the main ones we'd recommend are:
FIVE star
The Hilton. A six storey resort hotel in the business district of the city, about 3km from the
old town and the main shopping area.
FOUR star
The City Centre Holiday Inn. Situated in the heart of the city only a few minutes from the International
Conference Centre.
The Hilton Park. A modern white fronted hotel situated 3km from the city centre.
The Castelli. A lovely pastel walled boutique hotel in the centre of town. Great value
for money.
The Cleopatra. City centre location
The Almond Business Suites. A goreous boutique hotel situated
2km from the main embassies and consulates. It has kitchenette rooms - great for longer term business or holiday stays.
The Excelsior. This hotel also has apartments in some rooms.
THREE star
The Europa. Simple design, pastel colour scheme and only 40 rooms makes this
hotel calming and comfortable.
The Centrum. An intimate cosy hotel with just 40 rooms right in the centre of town.
The Classic. Centrally situated near the old walls.
