honeymoon in Cyprus

by Andy
(uk)

Just wondered if anyone could help me. We have just got married and looking to go on honeymoon. Can anyone recommend any areas in Cyprus that are more suited for honeymooners and couples as we don't want to go somewere full of families and kids. We understand the time of year is not great as it's family season but wondered if there is anywhere anyone could recommend, as by the pictures and what we have heard, Cyprus looks beautiful

Best Places for Honeymoon in Cyprus
by: Helen

I don't know what your budget is but a relaxing spa hotel may be a good base - there are two in the Polis/Latchi area (far from the family crowds in Paphos!) - see my honeymoon page for further details.

On that page I also suggest you may want to hire a luxury villa - guaranteed not to have any families staying in same place (as with hotels or apartment complexes with shared pools).

The Argaka area near Polis has some beautiful tranquil villas as does Latchi, which is nearer to watersports activities should you want them.

Bascially avoid Limassol/Paphos/Ayia Napa, big towns full of noise and kids.

If you want mountain scenery and cooler weather as it will be hot near the coast in July, head for the Troodos mountains and stay in one of the Troodos hotels there - outside of August when the Cypriots go there, you won't find lots of families as they are all on the coast!
