Find out what's on in the Paphos region with my events in Paphos guide from regular weekly entertainment to special events like the annual opera.
Paphos harbour at night
A lot of special events on the island take place during the summer months when it's wonderfully warm and outdoor events don't have to rely on the weather, after all you hardly need to check the forecast for rain between June and September!
I personally love the opera which is always held at the castle in Paphos in September. For 2014, the Paphos opera was Mozart's Cosi van Tutti and I am eagerly awaiting news on what's going to be played this September.
There is also plenty of regular entertainment on offer from live bands and singers so I've listed a selection of the best ones here.
Here are some regular musical events as a guide to what's on in Paphos:
Tuesdays:Blue Jar, an excellent Irish folk, zazz and pop duo play live at the Stone House Inn in Peyia. 8pm start. Tel: 26623669 for information.
Robbie Williams Show with Ade Webb at 10pm at the Millennium Cocktail Bar, Georgia Centre, Coral Bay. Tel: 99151926 for information.
Thursdays:Elvis Presley Show with Chris King at 10pm at the Millennium Cocktail Bar, Georgia Centre, Coral Bay. Tel: 99151926 for more information.
Salsa Night with DJ Aphrodite from 10.30pm at Notos bar, Paphos Harbour. Tel: 26939616 for information.
Fridays:Stevie Dean at Charlie's Bar, Tombs of the Kings Road, from 9.30pm. Tel: 97689379 for information.
Tip: Stevie Dean has an excellent voice and can truly belt out a wide variety of hits including Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen - a unique performance! Don't miss her events in Paphos.
Saturdays:David East on guitar singing 50's to the present day hits from 8.30pm at The Square Bar & Bistro, Tala Village. Tel: 26930408 for information.
Michael Buble Show with Ben from 9.30pm at Charlie's Bar, Tombs of the Kings Road. Tel: 97689379 for more information.
Jezebel sings and hosts karaoke at the Fly Agin, Argaka coast road 9pm-midnight. Tel: 99831136 for more information.
If you're looking for a truly unique venue to while away a warm summer's night, look no further than Tala. This village is set high up above Paphos and the brand new amphitheatre is the setting for musical evenings, rock concerts and numerous plays.
As it's an outdoor venue, events in Paphos take place here in the warmer months usually starting from June through to end October. The 2014 programme included lots of great tribute acts like the jersey Boys, Bryan Ferry and Rod Stewart. I'm awaiting 2015's programme of events.
Tip: Be sure to take some cushions with you as the "seating" is a hard sandstone wall. One for your back and your bottom is highly advisable!
