Events In October in Cyprus?

Autumn is the time for me in Cyprus! All inclusive because I'm lazy and October because of the more temperate climate. Unfortunately it seems Cyprus seems to start shutting up shop around that time.

While on the island I am based near Paphos and while the body is weak (Well the legs at least) the mind is always willing, willing to travel for any interesting events (Must not involve walking, my pins are not working now) which are so sparse as to be non-existent.

The biggest get together I have found is the Sunday market at Timi, where at least I can mingle and sit amongst the locals.

I would like to go out adventure like but with specific targets, such as fetes, carnivals, particularly local village events etc. Any Ideas.

As usual my period is October, this year it will be 9th to 23rd. I have transport.

Things to do in Cyprus in October
by: Helen (website owner)

In terms of specific events happening in October, I don't know yet as these are only advertised a month or so beforehand.

I would suggest you look at the websites of local magazines like PALS in Polis or Grapevine in Paphos a month before you travel to see what's on specifically.

There are always things like car boot sales, but these are aimed at locals rather than holidaymakers - again these will be listed in the what's on sections of the above magazines.

Other than that, if you have a car, why not spend time exploring the island? October is a perfect time to visit the mountain villages when the temperature is still warm. You can find my favourites including descriptions, pictures and links to various attractions on my new 101 Things to do in Cyprus guide.
