Established for just a few years since 2005, Angelos Tsangarides is producing quality Cyprus wine with passion and enthusiasm. His small winery situated in Lemona village in the hills above Paphos produces around 50,000 bottles per year. He has invested in the most up to date wine production equipment and will happily share his love of wine making with visitors plus offer a tasting straight from the vat. The local village has thrived since the winery was built, a modern stone building nestled in the lush valley surrounding Lemona.
Among the excellent wines produced by Angelos are the rich quality reds Mataro and Cabernet Sauvignon, aromatic and fresh Xynesteri plus everday drinking white and red wines under the Ayios Efrem label. Angelos proudly won the prestigious gold awards for his Mataro and Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 at the Cyprus national wine competition in 2007 - their first year on the market! Angelos is constantly striving to improve his wines and continually plants new vineyards including grapes such as Chardonnay and Shiraz. The chardonnay has just been bottled and is excellent - light and fresh not heavy like Australian chardonnay wines and his limited production Shiraz is quite superb.
