We've done it... this is the result...but we so wish we'd had similar advice before we started our project. Building your own home in Cyprus is NOT for the faint-hearted, but we managed it, with a lot of help from an excellent property agent who has now become a close friend.

Buying Property in Cyprus

If you are thinking of buying a villa or an apartment in Cyprus, there are over 500 developers, a vast array of real estate developments all over the island and a long list of resale properties to choose from.

There is also a lot of land available and, if you are the adventurous type, you may want to consider buying a plot of land to build your own unique place in the sun.

There are huge advantages.

An individual plot with stunning views, whether sea or mountain.

Freedom to plan every last detail yourself.

And privacy, especially if, like we did, you choose a remote location, several kilometres from the nearest town/village.

But there are also many pitfalls to avoid on a unique build, not least choosing the right developer or property agent to help manage the project for you.
