Fine dining in Polis/Latchi

Best place for fine dining in Polis is Old Town, but it's expensive compared to other restaurants. yes you need to book for any restaurant over Xmas eve and Xmas day. Otherwise try Archontariki. I've no idea what the Xmas menus are sorry as we don't eat out on Xmas day. As I said before just take a look at their menus when you arrive

Thanks Helen

Actually we would be much more interested in good or fine Cypriot dining rather than Turkey dinners!

We shall be staying near Latchi and any recommendations for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day would be much appreciated. Also please advise whether booking is advisable.

Thankyou so much

Arthur

Or you could befriend some expats and see if they will invite you to their Christmas Dinner.

Christmas dinner in Polis area 2013

All the restaurants and tavernas in the Polis and Latchi area are open on Christmas day. I can't really recommend any particular one as I'm not sure what kind of food you like.

Many of them try to cater for the expat market by offering traditional turkey dinners, but to be honest, I've never tried eating out on Christmas day and the feedback I've had from friends is that it's often not that good as Cypriot tavernas don't normally cook turkeys!

I would suggest you visit a few of the tavernas beforehand when you arrive and ask to see their Christmas menu. If they're offering something mmore Cypriot, for example, a fish based meze or a selection of home-cooked Cypriot dishes,, then go for that rather than what is for them, a non-traditional Christmas lunch, which may not be so good.

You could always be different and have a BBQ on the beach (weather permitting!) or cook your own.
