Apomoro Taverna Kato Paphos (Ikarou and Palepaphou St)

An authentic Taverna, just at the back of the tourist areas, run by two Cypriot brothers and their Chef is also a partner. Both local Cypriots and visitors eat at the Apomoro and so many are regulars. The menu is extensive, but authentic, their mixed meze being particularly excellent. Owning a house in Cyprus, we have eaten at so many restaurants in the Paphos district over several years and always return to the Apomero.

Thanks for the restaurant tip Jim. Will try it when we are next in Paphos.

You are right, there are many tavernas in Paphos and most are mediocre serving unimaginative food at grossly inflated prices. And then the owners complain that the government is not doing enough to drive tourists their way.

They should think of the local community aswell and try serving value for money dishes of simple well-cooked food at a great price to put bums on seats.
